A Simple 10-Minute Morning Meditation Routine

July 24, 2026  ·  4 min read  ·  wallstare.co

How you begin the morning colors the whole day. A short, simple sit — before the day’s momentum builds — sets a calmer, clearer tone.

Why mornings work

In the morning the mind is relatively fresh and the world hasn’t started pulling at you yet. Meditating first, before email and notifications, protects the practice from a busy day and starts you grounded.

The 10-minute routine

  1. On waking, go to your spot and sit facing a bare wall.
  2. Take three slow breaths, releasing tension on each exhale.
  3. Lower your gaze; eyes soft and half-open.
  4. Rest on the breath; count exhales one to ten if it helps.
  5. When the mind wanders, return — kindly.
  6. Close slowly; carry the stillness into your day.

Anchor it to an existing habit so it sticks — see how to build a daily habit — and learn the details in the step-by-step guide.
